Akua Printing plates are ideal for monotype or drypoint processes. They are made from 100% crystal clear/no tint PETG plastic. PETG is durable but softer than polycarbonate. Perfect for Inversion Printing (printing the plate on top of the paper when going through the press). The soft and malleable surface allows for easily incised lines and a smoother transfer from ink to paper. Appropriate for monotype, but if textured materials are placed on the surface when going through the press a slight impression will be embedded in the plastic, making it no longer suitable for monotype.
