TEDx philly 2011
2011 | edition of 30
hand sewn and spray painted
In 2011, I worked with the first curation team to bring a TED conference to Philadelphia. The theme for our first year was ‘The City’ in celebration of the city we loved so much. So after my curatorial duties were done, the team then asked me to make an edition of handmade books that we could give to each of our esteemed speakers. It was a wonderful custom project to work on because it was so personal and also because I knew the amazing humans who would be receiving these books. The edition of thirty books were hand painted and sewn with abstract designs reminiscent of Philly; an urban, gritty, perfect wonderful place (in my opinion). They were further customized to have the TED logo on the back and slogan ‘for ideas worth spreading’ on the first page.
