the green movement.
I have this line of polaroids taped to the wall in the hallway leading into my bedroom with a pencil line that runs beneath them. I don’t remember my initial plan for this wall or these images but I know need them there. They are polaroids taken in 2008 during a trip with a dear friend to a pretty amazing place to do some good. I suspect we did the good we were aiming for (we planted more than 3,000 trees), but of course like most adventures when you set out to help something or someone most of the good gets done to you. Its a wonderful side effect of service I have come to learn.
Recently I was asked to take part in a cool project for the anthropologist via Facebook called MOVED. This is a cool space where chosen artists can share any series of images and discuss why they were moved by the images or the situation surrounding them. I think it’s a nice idea, this notion of being moved by something or someone, and since I am amazed at least once a day, I could not wait to contribute. Also I have to say I like what the good folks over at the anthropologist are trying to do. They are telling some sweet stories about folks making some pretty stellar stuff, and getting us all inspired while they are doing it.
These wall polaroids ended up being my project for the anthropologist facebook photo essay. And given that I am still so entrenched in my obsession with trees and with the color green three years later, I thought I would show you a few more images from that time and place that continue to inspire me each day.

And finally, a blog or two about the experience
one from me and this blog post is from the good friend who stood beside me all those hours singing tree planting songs under a gorgeous Scotland sky.
